Story
T.Y. HARBOR is not just a restaurant; it is a testament to history, resilience, and the spirit of collaboration. The story begins with my grandfather, who, after the war, transformed a burnt-out factory into the iconic Terada Warehouses in Tennozu. These warehouses stood witness to the passage of time, and in the late 80s, as Tennozu underwent waterfront redevelopment, they were reborn into modern offices and studios, breathing new life into the area. In April 1997, T.Y. HARBOR emerged as one of these renovation projects. Inspired by West Coast American brewery restaurants and driven by a passion for local beer, we became one of the pioneering breweries in Tokyo, standing apart from the major brewery-backed establishments. However, despite the promising location and initial buzz, the restaurant struggled financially for almost two years. It was a critical moment when we brought in a new management team in April 1999, who bravely faced the challenges head-on and turned the tide with their unwavering dedication and effort. Since then, T.Y. HARBOR has blossomed into a diverse and inclusive culinary haven in the heart of Tokyo. Our clientele spans all ages, nationalities, and backgrounds, drawn to our warm and welcoming environment. Despite being within walking distance of Shinagawa Station, our restaurant exists in a time bubble where the city's frantic pace fades away. Here, you can experience the serene play of light and weather, connecting with nature as the sky stretches above you. The picturesque waterfront, especially during sunset, enchants with its captivating colors, creating a mesmerizing landscape that leaves you speechless.
